Material: comprised of a high-grade, medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and featuring a rosewood finish. MDF is more stable than solid wood and stands up better to changes in heat and humidity.

This is one beautiful and well made item.  I love the color and that the Serenity Prayer is engraved, not printed or painted, on the lid.  EZ to open and hinged nicely.  Even the inside foam is neatly and correctly cut to fit the coin holder that is supplied for your choice of coin.  I purchased this box and a 25 year special coin for a member of my group who has been around the block a few 24's.  You will not be disappointed with this holder, nor will the person receiving this as a gift.
