RecoveryShop Mix & Match discounts are available on select RecoveryShop-designed product families, making it easier to order a variety of recovery products while still receiving bulk pricing.

Instead of purchasing a large quantity of one design, you can combine eligible styles, colors, titles, milestone years, or designs within the same Mix & Match product family. Once the qualifying quantity is reached, the discount is applied automatically in your cart.

How Mix & Match Discounts Work

  1. Shop products displaying the same Mix & Match banner.
  2. Combine eligible products within that product family.
  3. Reach the minimum qualifying quantity.
  4. The discount is applied automatically in your cart.

The banner color helps identify which products can be combined together. Products displaying the same Mix & Match banner belong to the same qualifying product family.

Important Mix & Match Details

Mix & Match discounts apply only to participating products displaying the appropriate banner.

Products from different Mix & Match product families do not combine toward the same minimum. For example, 50 qualifying Paper Bookmarks and 50 qualifying Paper Verse Cards would not satisfy either 100-item minimum because they belong to separate product families.

The qualifying quantity is calculated across eligible products within the same Mix & Match family, and the discount is applied automatically when the required quantity is reached.

Some RecoveryShop products use a separate quantity discount instead of a Mix & Match discount.

Single-Product Quantity Discounts

Some products offer a discount when you purchase a specified quantity of that individual title or item.

Example: 10% OFF 10 or More of This Title

Unlike Mix & Match discounts, these quantities cannot be combined across different products. The minimum quantity must be purchased from that specific item.

How Do I Know Which Year Sobriety Coin to Buy?

Use the person's sobriety date and the anniversary they are celebrating. The number on the yearly medallion represents the number of full years of sobriety completed on that anniversary date.

Example: Sobriety Date September 20, 2021

September 20, 2022 - 1 Year
September 20, 2023 - 2 Years
September 20, 2024 - 3 Years
September 20, 2025 - 4 Years
September 20, 2026 - 5 Years

For the September 20, 2026 anniversary, choose a 5 Year Sobriety Medallion.

Do I Buy the Years Completed or the Year They Are Entering?

Buy the number of full years being completed.

Someone celebrating 5 years of sobriety receives a 5 Year medallion. They are beginning their sixth year of sobriety, but the anniversary celebrates the 5 full years already completed.

What If Their Anniversary Has Not Happened Yet This Year?

If you are shopping for an upcoming anniversary, choose the medallion for the number of years they will complete on that anniversary.

For example, if the sobriety date is September 20, 2021 and you are shopping a few days before September 20, 2026, the person is still currently 4 full years sober. Their upcoming anniversary, however, celebrates 5 full years.

The correct gift for that upcoming anniversary is therefore a 5 Year Sobriety Medallion.

What If They Have Been Sober Less Than One Year?

The calculator will not show a "0 Year" medallion.

If the first yearly anniversary has not yet been reached, it will show the upcoming 1 Year anniversary date and recommend a 1 Year medallion for that anniversary.

Before the first year, people may also celebrate monthly milestones or use a 24 Hour recovery coin depending on their group or personal recovery tradition.

If their sobriety date was in 2021, which coin do I buy in 2026?

On the 2026 anniversary of a 2021 sobriety date, the person completes 5 full years of sobriety. The correct yearly medallion is therefore a 5 Year medallion.

What if I only know the sobriety year but not the exact date?

The year alone can give you an estimate, but you need the month and day to know whether the anniversary has already happened this year. When possible, confirm the complete sobriety date before ordering.

What if they are celebrating months instead of years?

Monthly milestones are separate from yearly sobriety anniversaries. Monthly recovery coins commonly use regular numbers, while many yearly anniversary medallions use Roman numerals.

What if today is their anniversary?

The calculator recognizes the anniversary date and identifies the number of full years being celebrated that day.

What about a February 29 sobriety date?

Leap Day anniversaries may be personally observed on February 28 or March 1 during non-leap years. For calculation purposes, this calculator uses February 28. If timing matters for a gift, confirm which date the person personally celebrates.

Why Do Sobriety Medallions Use Roman Numerals?

Roman numerals have a long history of use on coins, medals, commemorative pieces, monuments, and anniversary designs. They are also commonly used on yearly sobriety anniversary medallions.

Roman numerals have appeared on raised-center AA anniversary medallion designs for many years. Sobriety medallions are produced by different manufacturers and are not standardized by AA World Services, so designs, wording, and numbering styles can vary.

How Do You Read Roman Numerals on a Sobriety Coin?

The main Roman numerals used on sobriety anniversary medallions through 50 years are:

I = 1
V = 5
X = 10
L = 50

When a smaller numeral follows a larger numeral, the values are usually added. For example, VIII equals 8.

When a smaller numeral appears before a larger numeral, it is usually subtracted. For example, IX equals 9, and XL equals 40.

You do not need to memorize the system to choose a sobriety medallion. The chart above shows the matching Roman numeral for every anniversary from 1 through 50 years.

Are Monthly Sobriety Coins Written in Roman Numerals?
